I developed the Dog Breed Identifier as a straightforward experiment to combine machine learning with web development. This React.js app uses TensorFlow JS and MobileNet to identify dog breeds in real time, serving as a practical testbed for integrating these technologies. The project was built out of a genuine interest in exploring model performance and functionality, rather than aiming for a polished interface.
While the interface is admittedly rough around the edges and not optimized for mobile devices, the imperfections add to its quirky charm. The focus was never on perfect design but rather on the thrill of seeing trained models in action and the delight of discovering different breeds. This project stands as a reminder that experimentation and curiosity can drive innovation, even when the final product isn't picture-perfect.
